Dr. Sam of Active Life Chiropractic believes that an important part of the restoration of your health is dealing with the joints and muscles. With every chiropractic visit, Dr. Sam focuses not only on the joints but also on getting the muscles in proper balance. He does this with myofascial techniques and a variety of other techniques.
During myofascial release therapy, Dr. Sam will locate the myofascial areas that feel stiff and fixed, rather than of elastic and movable, by using light, manual pressure. These areas aren’t always near what seems to be the source of pain. They restrict muscle and joint movements, contributing to a widespread muscle pain. Myofascial release therapy uses manual pressure and stretching to loosen up the restricted movement, leading indirectly to reduced pain.
